HEKENG TULOU CLUSTER
Hekeng is a group of thirteen tulous nestling in a picturesque valley. Less touristy than Tianluokeng, this village offers a more authentic atmosphere and total immersion in rural Hakka life. The layout of the tulous, in harmony with the surrounding hills and terraced rice fields, creates a landscape of striking beauty. There are circular and square tulous of varying sizes, still inhabited by a few families. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hekeng is an ideal place to discover Hakka architecture away from the crowds.
