FERGUSON'S GULF
Ferguson's gulf (a name inherited from British colonial times), not far from Kalokol, lies around 40 km north of Eliye. Sheltered from the wind and bordered by authentic Turkana fishing villages, it is far from mass tourism. A trip there from Eliye is an opportunity to spend a day discovering the local culture, with stopovers in villages, swimming and meals based on ugali and fish. However, the gulf is likely to be in its final years, as rising sea levels are particularly affecting its shores, and the gulf is likely to become a bay.
