The traditional village of Bissu invites you to immerse yourself among the Bugis of Sulawesi. The Bissu, priests of the "fifth gender", mix male and female roles and are perceived as half-human, half-divine, bridges between two worlds. Every year, the mappalili ceremony, linked to the rice fields, perpetuates these traditions. At ~2.5 h from Sultan Hasanuddin airport (Segeri, Pangkep), it's the perfect place to attend the Arajang and celebrate tolerance and cultural diversity.
