Perched on spectacular hard-architectural exokarst hills, this site reveals rocks from the Tonasa formation (50-15 million years old). The village lives to the rhythm of the mappano' ri salo, a pre-nuptial ritual dedicated to the water lord Karaeng Sinri Jala. Palm trees and Macaca maura macaques dot the landscape. About 2 hours from Sultan Hasanuddin airport (via Balocci-Balleangin), discover this magnificent garden of uniquely patterned karst boulders, protected by the national park - a rare, photogenic and soothing setting.
