Located 12 km (30 minutes) from Chirundu on the Chiawa Road, and on the banks of the Kafue River, Gwabi River Lodge is the starting point for boat transfers to lodges on the Zambezi River, upstream and in the Lower Zambezi NP. Popular with backpackers, it is quite lively and friendly, in a lovely setting. The hard-standing and en-suite chalets are decent. The riverside campground is nice, as is the pool and bar/restaurant. Canoe rental and organization of canoe safaris of several days in the park.
