MEDIEVAL NECROPOLIS OF GREBNICE-BUNČIĆI

This site (Nekropola Grebnice-Bunčići/Некропола Гребнице-Бунцићи) is one of the twenty-two medieval necropolises in the country listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2016. It includes 291 stećci, 32 of which are decorated (geometric motifs, birds, hunting scene, hand). It is most famous for its seven 15th-century stećci with inscriptions in bosančica (one is kept in the National Museum, Sarajevo). The site also houses an Illyrian burial mound and an Ottoman nişan.
