CASTLE OF RA'OUM

This stone castle, or what remains of it, dates back to the period of the Yemeni invasion in 1900. After capturing Najran, the Yemenis built this defensive castelet on the top of the highest mountain to keep an eye on the surroundings. Cross the Najran wadi after visiting the Aan palace and climb for 30 minutes up the mountainside to reach the castle and its 1,000 meters of altitude. It dominates the surroundings and offers a magnificent view of the wadi, the Najran oasis and its old adobe houses and palaces.
