UQAIR BEACH

From Uqair, going north, you will pass a gas station. Just across the road, a road goes off to the right and leads to Uqair beach. The beach has been lavishly landscaped by the Saudi government. A huge semi-circular structure on two floors with regular arches reminds us of the Roman amphitheaters and more particularly the Colosseum in Rome. Its usefulness, apart from the shadow it casts, remains rather uncertain. A walkway has been concreted and many street lamps illuminate the site.
