A school designed to educate the princes of the kingdom, distinguished by its architecture blending Islamic influences.
Al Amiriah School was closed when we visited. It is one of the oldest public schools in Saudi Arabia and the first in Al Hofuf. Its construction began in 1937 and it opened its doors in February 1941, under the auspices of Prince Saud bin Jalawi, the prince of the Al-Ahsa governorate. The school was intended for the education of the princes of the kingdom. Its architecture mixes Islamic influences, particularly notable in the arches of the courtyard which alternate semicircle, European-style floral motifs or Mughal lotus flower.
