In the very nice open-air park of Koganei, about thirty buildings have been built in order to preserve a small part of the architectural tradition of the Edo period, and to expose the Japanese know-how in this field. The interior of the houses is also entirely reconstructed to allow to appreciate the techniques of Japanese family construction. A very good museum, only 20 minutes away from Shinjuku.
