The Essex Valley is located north of the Bvumba Mountains. It is also particularly green and well-watered and offers sumptuous panoramas. It offers beautiful walks, some of which can be done over several days. The valley is full of rivers, waterfalls, etc. To get to the Essex Valley more quickly (without having to go around the mountains from the south and west), take the Bvumba Road from Mutare for about 18 km, then turn left at the sign for Essex Valley. The road gives way to winding tracks through beautiful mountain scenery, before plunging into the valley.
