The Chalbi Desert lies in a triangle between Masarbit, North Horr and the eastern shore of Lake Turkana and extends almost to the Ethiopian border. It is crossed on the road that goes from Masarbit to North Horr. It is an extremely harsh environment, an ocean of dunes where only the most resistant species survive.
