The Stelvio, on the Italian-Swiss border (Italian side), is a mythical place for many bikers in search of curves and altitude. Perched at 2 758 m, it is the highest road pass in the Italian Alps. So of course, if you need to stop for a meal on the way up, this is the place to do it. The Tibet Hütte, set back a little from the road, offers a splendid view of the Orter massif, especially from its panoramic terrace. It serves typical South Tyrolean and Valtellina dishes. Rooms are also available.
