CASTEL COIRA
A medieval castle with an impressive collection of armory in Sluderno.
This is the medieval castle of Sluderno, which has an impressive collection of armoury. Built in 1206 for the lord of Mazia, it consisted of the crenellated tower, the surrounding wall and the palace. In 1504, with a marriage between the last Matsch heir and the family of Count Trapp, the castle changed owners. The new lords rebuilt the palace and the chapel, and added Renaissance frescoes and the loggia. In the ancestors' room, the portraits of the Trapps - still owners - from 1600 to 1800 are collected.
