This is the pilgrimage route leading to Koyasan. The "stone path" was founded by Kōbō-Daishi, 1200 years ago. It begins at the Jison-in Temple, located in the town of Kudoyama, all the way to Koyasan through Danjo Garan. This pilgrimage route is about 20 kilometers long. It is one of the sacred sites and pilgrimage routes in the Kii Mountains inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Markers, placed every 109 meters, dot the route.
