TEMPLE RYUSEN-JI
The ascetics of shugendō go to this temple, since its foundation around 645, in order to pray and meditate before the ascent of Mount Omine. There are many dragon and snake motifs, inspired by a legend. A couple is said to have formed a couple there before having a child. One evening, the man would have discovered that his wife was none other than a giant white snake. She would have left him in charge of the child before leaving for the temple pond, asking him to ring the bell every day. This temple is a wonder in autumn.
