ЗАПОВЕДНИК БОЛЬШЕХЕХТИРСКИЙ. The Bolshekhekhtsirsky Nature Reserve covers 45,500 ha. It is a wildlife sanctuary, yet it lies less than 45 km southwest of Khabarovsk, at the confluence of the Amur and Usury rivers in the Sikhote-Alin mountains. The taiga turns into subtropical forest to the south of the reserve. More than 35 species of mammals, including the Amur tiger, bear, buffalo and 190 species of birds. Khabarovsk agencies organize day tours (zapoved.ru/catalog/12).
