Along the steep roads of the Ameln Valley, there are a multitude of small villages with their own particular architecture and their inhabitants rooted in their ancestral customs and yet open to modern civilization. Take the road that leaves north of Tafraoute, in the direction of Tioulit, for 3.5 km. At a fork in the road, take the right-hand road for a few meters and stop. There, observe the lion's head that appears in front of you on the side of the mountain, in the direction of Jebel Lekst. Then continue on the same road into the Ameln Valley. Here, the harshness of the mountain is mitigated with the appearance, at the bottom of the valley, of a lush vegetation composed of date palms, almond trees, argan trees and fields of barley and corn, interspersed by the meandering of the wadi Ameln. Among the countless small villages that border the valley, let's mention the one of Sidi Abd el-Jebar which has a mosque hanging on the side of the mountain. The lime which covers it and on which the sun reflects gives it a sacred aspect and contrasts with the ochre of the mountains and the green of the luxuriant vegetation of the valley. You can go for a walk in the villages on the mountainside, including the village of Imintizht which is perfectly suited to this. Head towards the mosque, which you leave on your left, then climb the steep paths that lead to the heights of the village. From there, take advantage of the exceptional panorama which is offered to you.
