This magnificent route will allow you to immerse yourself in the rural culture of the region, to experience pastures and larch trees, to admire the most beautiful peaks in the Aosta Valley, and to meet many animals (marmots, hares, roe deer, stags, among other common species) provided you are very quiet and respectful of the beautiful nature that surrounds you. Your route begins at the small chalets on the road to the Chantorné lifts. From there, take the cross-country ski trail to Alpe Chavannes et Arpeille, then Alpe Brusoney and finally Alpe Bedsoloz. The loop also passes Alpage Tellinod, Alpage Palud, Alpage Château and the ruins of the Chavacour hospice. The route continues through fir and larch woods, arriving near the Chantorné ski slopes, joining the Col des Bornes and finally passing through Champlong. Here you can visit a mountain pasture where cheese is made daily from June to September. If you're hiking at this time of year, it's a truly fascinating and instructive experience. From here, you finally reach Plan Prorion, which represents the end of the route. A word of advice: visit the official Valle d'Aosta tourism website for precise information on the itinerary to be followed. It's a very rich site, and will enable you to prepare your hike in the best possible way.
