Chasm near Valtournenche, on the road to Breuil-Cervinia.
This chasm is in fact a 104-metre-long fault cut into the rock by the erosive action of water. It was formed by the great thaw of the Matterhorn glaciers that once occupied the valley. Today, the Marmore torrent flows through the chasm, creating a beautiful waterfall with a jump of around ten meters. The site is 3 km from Valtournenche, on regional roadno. 46 to Breuil-Cervinia. A number of explanatory panels enhance the visit.
