RIFUGIO CHALET DE L'ÉPÉE

Hungry after a day's hiking? The Chalet de l'Épée refuge, located on the Haute Route n. 2, about a two-hour walk from the hamlet of Usellières, has just what you need. Closely surrounded by the mountains, this establishment offers typical "refuge" cuisine: dishes that are always traditional and plentiful, where polenta and sausage are never in short supply, as are ratatouille, tartiflette and a marvellous fontina, the typical Aosta Valley alpine cheese. The refuge offers dormitory beds for hikers.
