Founded in 1931, the Lagos Yacht Club is the city's oldest sailing club. It offers its members sea outings and regattas on Saturdays. Its outdoor terrace offers a unique panoramic view of the harbour, as well as excellent beer. But the LYC remains first and foremost a sailing club: "We want to be a sailing club with a drinking problem, not a drinking club with a sailing problem", jokes its French-speaking Commodore. The fleet is a mix of Hobby 16 catamarans, Lightenings, Lasers and older wooden boats.
