Lagos Biennal 2026
Go there and contact
Founded in 2017 by artists within the Àkéte Art Foundation, the Lagos Biennale takes place every two years. The event stands out for its experimental approach and strong local roots. It takes over emblematic sites such as the 1955 railway workshop, Independence House and, for the last edition, Tafawa Balewa Square. This site has been transformed into an open-air gallery with installations, performances, video projections, pavilions and debates. More than 80 artists from 30 countries took part in the event, based on the theme of "Refuge".
