3440 is the altitude of the establishment: it's the highest café in Austria! The view of the Pitztal glacier and the Wildspitze, the highest peak in North Tyrol (3,774 m), from the modern building, a kind of spacecraft lost among snow-capped peaks, is simply fabulous and well worth a visit! To get there, first take the Gletscherexpress funicular from Mittelberg, then a gondola lift offering spectacular mountain views. Make sure you bundle up: even in midsummer, it's cold up there!
