During the modernization of the city centre of Camps, the necropolis of Plaça de la Creu, in the heart of the urban core, was uncovered. A 2016 archaeological excavation campaign made it possible to further analyse the site, making it possible to identify elements ranging from the 4th to the 12th century, but also to reveal the structures of a vast medieval building and a cemetery estimated to date from the 17th to the 19th century.
