TOWER BOWER
Atop the city's highest hill, Oke-Are, the Bower Tower offers a superb panorama of Ibadan, allowing you to gauge the extent of the ochre-roofed city. A little hard to find, although it can be seen from a distance, it can be reached via a popular district of Ibadan, making for an interesting walk. The 18-metre-high tower was built in 1936 as a tribute to Captain Robert Lister Bower, Ibadan's colonial administrator from 1893 to 1897. If you dare to climb it, the interior spiral staircase is a curiosity, forming a helix with two entrances.
