KISHIWADA CASTLE
Its construction dates back to the early 16th century. The dungeon is not the original one, as it burnt down in 1827. It was restored in 1954. On the ground floor and first floor are displayed armour, paintings and various objects tracing the history of Kishiwada. Upstairs, one enjoys the panoramic view of the city and the sea, as well as the garden below, which was designed by Mirei Shigemori. The eight distinctive elements of the garden represent paradise, earth, wind, clouds, dragon, tiger, bird and snake.
