This small Peruvian island is located 2 km southwest of the port of Leticia, less than 10 minutes by peque-peque ($3,000). Like Tabatinga, Santa Rosa does not require any formalities to get there, unless you are traveling further into Peru. The village of Santa Rosa de Yavarí is entirely focused on fishing, an opportunity to taste a ceviche peruano with a chicha morada orInca Cola and to walk between the wooden shacks, watching the fishermen tinkering with their nets. Very festive (and alcoholic) atmosphere at the end of the week. For the return trip, don't be mistaken, ask for the pirogues to Leticia (until 6pm) and not Tabatinga!
