At 20 kilometers from Puerto Arista, here is a pretty small beach easily accessible, which is in fact located on the other side of the estuary, on Isla San Marcos. There, you will find only small weekend houses and a long and endless beach. Boca del Cielo is thus an excellent base to participate in the protection of the marine turtles (in particular the collection of the eggs between June and October and the release of the babies between July and December), to discover the estuary and the mangroves by boat and, especially, to observe the indescribable spectacle of the thousands of birds which invade the Laguna la Joya in winter.
