KIT CARSON HOME AND MUSEUM

When it comes to New Mexico history, the name of the controversial Kit Carson is often mentioned. Perfectly preserved in its original condition, this house will give you a better understanding of his life, from his glory days to his darker times - including his cruel campaign to "pacify" the Navajo in the 1860s. One of the highlights of the collection is the sword Carson used in the Civil War, which the museum purchased in 2013.
