This sublime 17th-century cottage in the peaceful hamlet of Rodmell, around five kilometers southeast of Lewes, is a veritable place of pilgrimage for every mad reader of the Bloomsbury group, and in particular of Virginia Woolf. The Woolfs bought it in 1919. The author wrote several novels here, notably in the typically South English garden. The house was taken over by the National Trust in 1980. The interior is filled with treasures linked to the Bloomsbury group. It has now been converted into a museum.
