Situated 155 km from Gorno-Altaïsk, Artybash is a small village (600 inhab.). It is the gateway to Lake Teletskoye. Its economy is concentrated on tourism: there are many campsites, tourbaza (leisure centres) and guesthouses. Artybash is very popular with Russian holidaymakers and offers a plethora of activities: boat tours, horseback riding, hiking and rafting. In winter, you can ski down the slopes of the Teletsky resort (teletski.ru). The village of Artybash is very well served by regular buses from/to Gorno-Altaiysk, Biysk, Barnaul, Novosibirsk. The neighbouring village of Yogach (иогач), located opposite, is also very accessible.
