Two hours flight from Paris and here you are landing in the south of Croatia, at Split airport. Just across from Trogir, Okrug-Gornji forms an island with Čiovo that is connected to the historic peninsula by the old bridge and now the new bridge, opened in 2018. Anchored in the southwest of these island lands, Okrug enjoys a Mediterranean climate, where lush vegetation abounds lining small beaches and coves. It is even said to be one of the brightest towns in Croatia. This small seaside resort, less than 15 km from Split, is more quiet and natural than Trogir, and is attracting more and more visitors. Many accommodations, cafes-bars-restaurants, summer animations, and even a diving club.

Okrug is a small town "hidden" in the bay of Saldun, but above all it is one of the most popular destinations on the Trogir coast. One of its major assets is probably its weather with an average of 2,670 hours of sunshine per year. This means that the weather is almost always good! And with an average temperature of 16°C, people come here all year round to enjoy a mild winter.

Then, culturally, the area has a lot to offer. First of all, you are close to Trogir (the best preserved medieval city of the Mediterranean), Split, Diocletian's Palace..

In the center of the village of Okrug, don't miss the old stone houses and all the traces showing that the population was originally made of fishermen and workers.

But the main asset of Okrug is its seaside resort which will seduce couples, friends and families. During the summer season (July/August), everything is done and planned so that you have an ideal stay, whatever your situation.

First of all, we discover the Copacabana Beach, its series of bars and restaurants and its translucent water. In the summer, this two-kilometer long beach, also called "Toc", comes alive and becomes the main artery of the city. Most of the day and night events take place here. For a little more peace and quiet, we also suggest you go and lose yourself in the many hidden beaches and coves that line the coast.

Another very nice beach is Medena, 10 minutes away from Trogir by cab boat. Once there, you can rent deckchairs, order a cold drink, a cocktail, an ice cream, have a meal, at noon or in the evening, in snack formula, or more consequently, à la carte with classic seaside dishes (grilled fish, octopus salad, risotto...).

Other activities available to you include jet-skiing, parasailing or lazing around on an inflatable buoy.

Do you want to spend a little time or are you a sportsman at heart? Good news, activities are numerous here. There is a diving center where you can discover the sea bed by scuba diving or simply by snorkeling, and you can rent paddles, kayaks or surfboards. There are also many boat trips that are proposed and worth the detour!

You can come and discover caves, simply walk along the coast or why not, go and discover the neighboring islets such as the islet Fumia and the remains of its Benedictine monastery. Or why not venture a little further north to the islands of Suza, an archipelago of about 150 small uninhabited islands and bays that are part of the Kornati National Park.

Another popular excursion is the "Fish Picnic", organized by the Fishpicnic Trogir agency. Set sail and visit three islands Drvenik, Šolta and Čiovo. As you can see, Okrug and its surroundings are not lacking in interest. And if you feel like continuing to refresh yourself with water sports, head for the Cetina River and its rafting! Ultra popular.

And if you're a little tired of the sea and the crowds, you can always rent a bike and go inland. The website of the tourist office, for example, offers five different tours: the oldest island settlement and the former hermitage, the two sides of the island, the challenge for the most experienced cyclists, the royal path or the technically demanding tour to exceed your limits! So, which one do you want to do? For families, the city organizes "children's weeks". There are activities adapted to the youngest as well as to the oldest with, for example, stories and many games from 10am to 9pm! When we say that Okrug thinks of all publics..
