Travel Guide Essendilène

The name, known by Roger Frisian-Roche (read Le Rendez-vous d'Essendilène), is already dreaming. To go to this valley protected by a high rock barrier that penetrates the Tassili, follow the road of Illizi for about kilometres north to a semblance of a trail highlighted by traces of tyres leading to the northeast. Then, you go back to a small palm grove, which marks the beginning of a canyon where some Tuareg families are being hit. A few kilometres away, huge lauriers keep in the canyon of Essendilène. You must walk for a few kilometers (about 5) to arrive at the guelta at the origin of this herbal miracle.
