THE BELIZE ZOO

Spread over ten hectares, the Belize Zoo offers visitors the chance to meet around 150 animals from 50 species. We'll explain that each animal has its own story: domestic animals donated to the institution, injured animals found in the wild or abandoned by their owners, even animals born on site. Animals considered fit for the wild are released. You can see spider monkeys, white-tailed deer, raccoons, white-lipped peccaries, pumas, jaguars, tapirs... and, of course, the inevitable Belize toucan.
