EX HACIENDA SAN RAFAEL

Behind the Escuela Modelo, one reaches the first imposing hacienda, that of San Rafael: its 120-metre deep well is accessible especially outside the rainy season; right next to it is the Centro Agroecologico Mina San Rafael, where one can penetrate a 70-metre deep well with the help of steps and a rope. But it is from here that the ride becomes the most interesting, when you start the road that goes up to the mountains in the distance: haciendas and mines follow one another, in a semi-desert setting.
