Travel Guide Ponta Do Queimado

Once you've reached Serreta, a detour to Ponta do Queimado is in order. Turn right onto the road signposted "Farol" (lighthouse); after a few kilometers and as many switchbacks, you'll reach a lookout point overlooking the cliffs. In the distance, you can see the elegant silhouette of Graciosa (on a clear day!). Continue on to the end of the road: Ponta do Serrata also offers superb panoramic views. Here, you can take a leisurely stroll along the volcanic rocks and admire the cliffs. If you can, come at sunset: the panorama and light at this time of day are fabulous.
