One of the oldest folk festivals in the country celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. This event in Detva is not to be missed.

The International Festival of Folklore and Traditional Folk Culture Pod Poľana is one of the largest folklore events in Slovakia. Since its creation in 1966, it has been held every year on the second weekend in July in Detva, in the heart of Slovakia, in the centre of one of the most dynamic and costume-distinctive folklore regions. Detva comes alive every year in a festive atmosphere and welcomes about 1,500 artists.
