Anderkilla is a district of Chittagong, located north-east of the station. It includes the impressive Laskar Jama mosque, built in 1670, at the top of a hill. Under austere air of stronghold, Portuguese influence manifests itself clearly in architecture. Long steep minarets, on the other hand, seem to be very open to Turkish Islamic architecture.
