LAGJA-QOKA MOSQUE
The mosque in the Çok district (Xhamia e Çokut, Čoku džamija) was built around 1580 and has the peculiarity of having two asymmetrical minarets. The smaller and older one is 8 m high and barely exceeds the mosque, a large building that lost its interior decoration during the last war. The second, 25 m high, is a reproduction of the minaret added in 1878 and destroyed by Serbian forces in 1999. Junik also has a large tekké halveti (Teqja e Sheh Xhaferit) dating from the early twentieth century and located at the northern entrance to the town.
