FESTA DELLA SPORTELLA

Among the many events that accompany the Easter period, the Fête festival is undoubtedly the most famous and expected on the east coast of the island. An appointment which, for centuries, has traditionally taken place in the Sainte-Catherine hermitage and brings to the credit the famous sportella, a typical cake of Rio Nell'Elba, a crown whose ends intersect. In the past, this cake was exchanged between the betrothed during the Easter period, as a fertility omen for the new season.
