Famous sanctuary of the XIV century, an important place of pilgrimage where Napoleon liked to go.

On Mount Giove, at 627 m above sea level, under a chestnut grove, this famous 14th century sanctuary was built with granite blocks. There is a Virgin painted on granite (15th century) and in the apse there are figures attributed to Sodoma. An important place of pilgrimage where Napoleon liked to go because the panorama allowed him to control the maritime movements around the island. The emperor stayed there from 23 August to 14 September 1814, and received Marie Walewska and their son Alexander.
