The most skilled surfers will find plenty of challenges at Playa Matapalo, a straight, powerful, rocky break that offers a very fast mid-tide turn. Surfers are very lucky to be at Playa Matapalo, as the beach can boast some sideline barrels when conditions are right. Due to its unique position facing the ocean, the beach tends to attract swells from the west and southwest, which generates excellent rides. Also take the opportunity to see the Rey Luis waterfall, which reaches almost 100 meters high.
