About 50 kilometers south of San Quintín, El Rosario is a small village that may be worth a stop for those heading further south or up north. There is a very good family restaurant serving crabs and lobsters that has been open since the 1930s (a real institution in the area) and, across the street, a small informal museum with dozens of fossils collected in the area. For those who wish to get some fresh air, the seaside is only a few hundred metres away. Ten kilometres to the north, La Lobera is a small underground beach where a colony of sea lions bask.
