Things to see and do Barco De Ávila

Overlooking the river Tormes and the old bridge, this fortress of the th century rises on the location of an ancient Castro (fortified village) destroyed by the Romans. Used as a municipal cemetery in the second half of the th century, it now serves as a framework for cultural events.

This Gothic-style church consists of three neves with beautiful vaults on the crossheads of the xivth century, which invite to raise their eyes to the sky. It retains a superb baroque retable of the seventeenth century, as well as a xviiith century organ. The capital hall houses the collections of the parish museum.
