XURBEO WATERFALL

VIA ROMANA LA CARISA
Read moreBuilt in the time of Emperor Auguste, it passes through the summit of Carraceo Cordal, connecting, on 42 km, Pendilla (in Leon) and Ujo (Mieres commune, in Asturias). Located between 26 and 22 BC to lead the war against the Astures, the Roman camp occupied 10 hectares on Mount Curriechos at 1,728 m altitude. North of this camp, at 1 km, is a fortification dated in the middle of the viie and the beginning of the viiith century. The archeological ensemble of La Carisa is still being excavated. Located at Enfistiella, an interpretation center for this route should be created (information at the Tourist Office).
FOCES DEL PINO
Read moreThis 300-metre parade is part of the protected natural monuments of Asturias. They can be accessed from El Pino (hiking, signposted PRAS 31), followed by river which crosses the woods of native chestnut trees and oaks as well as meadows in dense green. Then comes a more rocky part (but accessible with shoes that adhere). At the end, you access the gorge, the main natural monument. Take about 3 hours, go and return, for a circuit of about 7 km. The walk is very nice and is going without difficulty. Take a few small reservations if you want to stop in order to enjoy a picnic view.
CHURCH SAN VINCENTE DE SERRAPIO
Read moreThis beautiful church overlooking the valley dates from the th century but was built on a previous pre-Romanesque church which itself had to occupy the place of a former pagan site. The interior contains a series of interesting frescoes and a votive plate dedicated to Jupiter.
