ATHGIRA RESTAURANT

A modern and very welcoming restaurant, open in the open air. It is the restaurant of the Athgira Hotel, located in front of the Uda Walawe Transit Home (Elephant Orphanage), in the northwest of the village, next to the hospital. It offers good food, served a la carte or buffet style. The prices are a bit high but the restaurant serves mainly tourist groups. The restaurant is owned by the Niluka Group, which also owns a lodge, a River Camp and organizes safaris with Niluka Safari Service.
