LA PLANÈTE REVISITÉE – EXPÉDITION MITARAKA

In March 2015, the La Planète revisitée program launched a major scientific discovery mission in French Guiana to discover as many new species as possible. Target area? The 10 km² Mitaraka massif, deep in the Guiana forest, which some 50 scientists combed. The result? The discovery of 2,730 previously unknown insect species! Another module focuses on aquatic life along rivers, and another on the coastline.
