Pweto is a small town in the territory of the same name in northeastern Katanga, on the northwestern shore of Lake Moero. It is famous for the battle fought there in 2000 during the Second Congo War, pitting government forces against the RCD rebels. The site's main attraction is the night-time candlelight fishing practiced by local fishermen in dugout canoes, an amazing spectacle. Pweto can only be reached by boat or plane.
