This boutique hotel is a small upscale paradise overlooking a beach with turquoise waters. Surrounded by a splendid tropical garden, two large luxurious villas are designed in a very different style. The Matlai Hotel has a Hollywood villa feel with its white colonnaded building and star pool on one side (Kidosho villa), and a large traditional makuti and wooden house with a round palm tree pool and lounge sofas on the other (Asili house). The design of the hotel and the choice of furniture has been thought out with elegance.

Lille hotel med kun 8 huse og en dejlig restaurant lige ud til havet. Maden var virkelig god og super søde folk. De havde skildpadder i baghaven. Kan varmt anbefales

C'était notre deuxième séjour dans ce boutique hôtel de 6 chambres.
Cette fois, nous avons séjourné dans l'une des 2 chambres de leur villa Kidosho.
Autant dire que c'est la plus belle chambre que nous ayons eu dans notre vie!
Piscine à débordement qui donne sur l'océan indien, jardin privé où vous avez l'embarras du choix pour vous mettre au soleil, ou à l'ombre. Très grande salle de bain avec même une baignoire. Chambre énorme et décorée avec tant de goût. Mais ce qui fait la différence de tout cela, ce sont les détails et il y en a beaucoup. Les repas peuvent être pris, où bon il vous semble dans la propriété. Ce qui donne, là encore, une sensation de liberté et de luxe. Le personnel est extrêmement attentionné, amical et professionnel.
Merci de nous avoir fait passé un séjour mémorable. Nous reviendrons!

Pendant notre sejour à zanzibar 1.12.23-10-12.23, j‘ai decouvert un resto sur la plage de Pingwe. Ce resto etait le resto de l‘hotel Matlai.
Nous y sommes revenus presque tous les soirs passés su l‘‘ile. Un personnel tres accueuillant et devoué , des repas exquis.
J‘ai eu droit à un inoubliable joyeux anniversaire organisé par le personnel ( merci Martin) . Je vous recommande cet endroit , vous ne regretterez pas ????????

We went for dinners and to celebrate the New Year’s Eve. This gets filled so easily make sure you book well in advance. The dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional! Staff is well trained. Well in par with 5 star hotel in terms of dining experience. The food was delicious with an extensive variety – we indulged in appetizers and four main courses, a real feast! (Normally hotels offer 1 main out of 4/5) 100% worth the price. Kudos to the owners and staff for providing exceptional service, ensuring we felt pampered throughout. What stood out was the inclusion of locals, making the New Year's Eve party even more memorable. It really touched us when we compare other hotels. Even the cakes were shared with everyone. This hotel really does the CSR at its best. Great value for money and a delightful way to celebrate the new year touching and improving so many hearts!
